...finishing ninja bracelets...
Sorry to be repetitive on yesterday's post, but after a very long time spent faffing around with beads and wire and jumprings and splitrings and pliers and leather and clasps, I finally came up with a finished bracelet! It has a leather fastener it seemed the best way to do it in the end, I shall be listing this one and another I made yesterday in the shops later on today.
...ninja bracelets (in progress)...
I'm having such a difficult time with these. I love the style of the bracelet above, but jumprings just don't seem to be strong enough, so I'm using split rings to hold them together (which is time consuming beyond belief!).
I had a go at using beading wire instead and although a lot quicker to do, they just don't look as good.
I'm sure with a little more experimenting I'll get there in the end!
...ninja jewellery planning...
I had a little bit of a day off from crafting yesterday-I played around some ideas for ninja themed bracelets and necklaces, but otherwise I don't have much to show for my day-I did however do some reading! Of a book-a proper book-not a picture book or a book of nursery rhymes (although I did read a couple of those too!) and not even a book about babies or crafting-this was a real; grown up fictional story book to read just for my own fun! I am enjoying it very much, I haven't done any proper reading since Milo was super tiny and I read in the middle of the night to try and prevent myself from falling asleep whilst breastfeeding! I am reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society which Johnny's grandparents gave me for christmas-I'm really enjoying it, it's a series of letters between a writer and various people in her life and members of the 'Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society' not long after the second world war. I shall let you know more when (or if) I finish it!
...so yesterday I found myself (with two very enthusiastic and incredibly amazing helpers) doing my first ever craft fair! It was fantastic, busy beyond anything I had imagined and we met lots of wonderful people.
Not only that we got to hang out in our favourite city with some of our favourite friends!
Unfortunately there were various battery problems, one being on both of our mobile phones, meaning we were un-contactable for a whole 24 hours! Crazy times! The other being that despite charging my camera yesterday morning I somehow managed to leave it turned on in my bag! So we have very few pictures of the wonderful event, but I'm sure there will be lots popping up over the internet in the next few days anyway.
It really was great fun and very much worth the very tired mama and baby we have here today...at least the baby will probably sleep all day, meaning I can get on with catching up on all the various jobs that need doing.
For those of you in the Cambridge area you should head down to the fair there this coming weekend, I have no doubt it will be just as fab!
