the end of summer...

...so I guess this means it really is the end of summer.

I remember reading somewhere last autumn that conkers deter spiders, I have no idea why, but as Johnny does not like spiders and our new house is rife with them, I thought I'd give it a go.

Don't get me wrong, I love spiders, but if this keeps them away then it's better than having to watch a grown man freak out over such a small creature and then witness the killing of said creature, or as he's been prone to do more recently, pointing the spiders out to Milo who's over excited 'playing' with them means Johnny doesn't have to partake in the killing himself.

My sister is terrified of them and she tried conkers last year. She says that it worked but I'm sure I heard a few weeks ago that it was all a myth that it worked....who knows?!
