me, the week I turned 18
...which makes 28 feel so much older than just saying 28. It also means that it is, oh so nearly, 10 years since I set off for university, 10 years since I started the slow journey into independence and adulthood and 10 years since I made the most amazing friends, friends who I'm very lucky to still have in my life now (even if I am no longer in the same place as any of them).
Of course all this also means I only have 2 years until I turn 30, which although frightening in it's self, is still 2 years and 2 years can be a long time, if you use that time wisely.
So I shall not feel sad that I am getting old today, because really what is the point, there is nothing we can do about it, and instead I shall feel excited about the future ahead and all the wonderful things that it may hold.
One of those above mentioned friends, said to me recently when discussing the past and the time we met, 'who would have thought we would be here now, and there is still so much more to come' and she was so so right. It may feel like my youth is over, now that I have my own child to tend to, and that may be true, but really there is so much more to come, all being well I'm not even half way there yet!!
Great timing for me to be visiting your blog 'cause I can send my best wishes for your birthday! Honey, these birthdays will keep on creeping up on you - enjoy every year like it's the best one and look to the future knowing that every new year can be exciting for you and full of new adventures.
By the way, I will be turning 30 soon and these wishes are for you but also a reminder for me to not dwell on the 'getting old' stuff ;D
Enjoy your Birthday!!!

Your youth is a long way from being behind you, didn't your Mum ever tell you, it's how old you feel not how you are. I'm not 51 I'm still in my 20's.
Happy birthday and here's to many more.
