Hapa-Zome Jam Jar Covers...

...after making our delicious jam last week, Bethany, my niece, and I set about making the jars pretty.

Firstly we made some labels in various shapes and sizes and then we decided to add some lid covers, but not just any old fabric lid covers, oh no!

We picked some violas and strawberry leaves from my garden, cut some cicles from an old pillowcase I had, grabbed the hammer and a chopping board and created some beautiful hapa-zome jar lid covers.

A had a go at this once before, you can see my original attempt here, and really enjoyed it but had yet to make anything actually functional with this technique so was glad to have a good use to put these too. Plus it was lots of fun to do with a little helper.

What a great, great project! I love how they turned out and and I'd REALLY love it if you would share a photo on my blog...? I have a contest going for those share their inspiration with all of us crafty people.

Glad I found you. This would be great to do with my nephews. With Hotwheels instead of flowers though :)

making jam... ...this has been the first year I have made jam, and I have got a little addicted (to both the jam and the making of it!). I have so far made 'strawberry', 'raspberry' and 'strawberry and blackberry' and all have worked perfectly, tasted fantastic and set first time every time. ten years ago today I turned 18... me, the week I turned 18 ...which makes 28 feel so much older than just saying 28.
